Why CA firms lose hours to WhatsApp chasing

Every filing season the same pattern repeats. Before GSTR-1 on the 11th and GSTR-3B on the 20th for monthly filers, the quarterly TDS returns, and the ITR season from July to October, juniors and articles spend a large share of the week asking clients for documents they already promised last week.

The channel is not the bug. Indian SME owners live on WhatsApp. They will photograph a bank statement and send it in 30 seconds. They will not create an account on a client portal, remember a password, or install a firm’s branded app. Any collection product that starts with “please log in” has already lost the client.

The bug is using WhatsApp as the system of record. Status lives in whoever last scrolled the group. Files are named IMG_2847.jpg. Period coverage is a guess. Partners cannot see, on one screen, who is complete for this GSTR-3B and who is not.

That work is high-frequency and money-adjacent — the worst combination for morale and the best wedge for automation. The time is not “admin”. It is billable capacity spent on follow-ups instead of review.

Fyliio is built for that gap: build the checklist, ask for it on WhatsApp, check what arrives, remind clients about what is missing, and give staff one board. Filing still happens in the software you already trust.
